PURPOSE:To perform the segmentation processing in real time even with the multi-value picture data of a large area by controlling the selection output in response to the state of each segment of a window and scanning the picture data in a prescribed size of the window to add labels for each segment. CONSTITUTION:The picture data stored in a picture memory 10 are fed successively to a segment arithmetic circuit 18 from an input buffer 14 of a segmentation circuit 11 via a picture memory bus MDB. In this case, the width equivalent to one line of the memory 10 is written to a width parameter buffer 16. At the same time, the initial value of a counter is set to a label buffer 17. Thus the input data is set to the register in a state of a window of (2X2). The data on each segment of the window is supplied to a segment deciding circuit and delivered from a logical table through a segment arithmetic part of the circuit 18. Thus the segmentation is possible at a high speed even with the multi-value picture data of a large area. |
