OPERATING METHOD OF CONTINUOUS HEAT TREATING FURNACE

PURPOSE:To economize particularly the amt. of the fuel to be used in the stage of blasting continuously air to materials to be treated in a continuous heat-treating furnace by controlling the temp. in the respective zones divided in the furnace according to the presence or absence of the materials in the respective zones. CONSTITUTION:Heating by combustion is started to increase first the temp. only in the heating zone A on the furnace port side to the temp. T2 necessary for the heat treatment, then the charging of materials W to be treated is started (time t1) in the stage of charging the materials W into a heat-treating furnace 1. The soaking zone B from a partition member 3 to an outlet door 14 is held at the temp. T1 lower than the above-mentioned temp. The temp. in the zone B is increased at around the time when the top material Wf arrives at the zone B according to the progression of the materials W in the furnace by walking beams 5 and is increased up to the temp. T2 at the time t2 when the materials arrive there. The temp. in both zones A, B is maintained at T2 during the time when the materials exist across both regions (t2-t3). The combustion in the heating zone is controlled to decrease the temp. to T1 at the point of the time t3 when the last material W enters the zone B upon advance of the materials W and the heating zone from an inlet door up to the member 3 is empty. The combustion in each zone is throttled or stopped when the last material W goes from the tail of the furnace to the outside.
