PURPOSE:To improve the safety of a vehicle on which an electronically controlled transmission by forming a starter circuit only when a selector lever and a transmission actuator are in the neutral position. CONSTITUTION:When a key is inserted in a key switch 22 and turned to an ON position, and a selector lever is shifted to a neutral position, a selector lever neutral switch 70 is turned on. An electronic control circuit 9 detects the on- action and controls a transmission actuator 5 to set a transmission gear 6 into the neutral position, whereby turning an actuator's neutral switch 60 on. Since both the switches 60 and 70 are turned on, a high level signal is generated from an NOR circuit 25a to turn a transistor 24b on so that a relay 23 carries a current to start an engine. Since any start of a vehicle against the driver's intention is prevented, the safety may be improved. |
