The device for measuring the snow depth of freshly fallen snow, which has an alarm-triggering system, consists of a measuring plate on the upper side of which the snow is precipitated. As soon as the prescribed snow depth is reached, an alarm signal is triggered in a transmitter set up at a remote location. Measurement of the snow load on the measurement plate is performed as a function of weight, and after an alarm has been triggered, the measuring plate discards the snow load bearing on it.
