PURPOSE:To improve sepn. from a carrier with a pulverized developer as well and to enable sharp reproduction of a fine image by developing the image under application of an oscillating electric field thereon by using a two-component developer of the carrier and toner particles consisting of magnetic material particles and a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:Development is accomplished by using a two-component developer D consisting of insulating carrier particles, more preferably spherical particles, composed of magnetic material particles and a thermoplastic and having <=50mu average grain size and a preferably spherical toner having <=20mu average grain size, making the thickness of the toner layer thinner than the space in a developing region A between an image carrier 1 and a developer conveying carrier 2 and impressing an oscillating electric field by the AC and DC from a power source 10. The image having good reproducibility of fine lines, dots and varying densities is thus always obtd. without troubles by using the carrier and toner which are made more pulverous than in the prior art. |
