<p>PURPOSE:To utilize effectively iron and slag forming components contained in slag overflowing a converter during blowing without carrying out any special treatment by charging the slag again into the converter as it is. CONSTITUTION:An iron-slag mixture such as spitting slag or slopping slag overflows a converter during blowing and deposits under the converter. The mixture is recovered and charged into the converter as a secondary starting material for refining from a scrap shoot or a hopper on the converter, and oxygen blowing is carried out. Unlike slag present in the converter together with molten steel until blowing is finished, said slag is rich with iron and useful slag forming components and has sufficient residual refining power, and iron is efficiently recovered, so the slag can be effectively utilized.</p> |
