Provided is a light-absorbing pigment solution which hardly shows lowering of light-absorbing power and has excellent stability according to a lapse of time. The light-absorbing pigment solution comprises a large ion conjugate of an anion of substituted benzenedithiol metal complex represented by the formula(1) and a cation of cyanine-based pigment, and a solvent having a relative dielectric constant of 10 or less. In the formula(1), R1 and R2 are each independently a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C8 alkylamino group, a molphorino group which has a substituent, a piperidino group which has a substituent, a pyrrolidino group which has a substituent, a thiomorphorino group which has a substituent, a piperazino group which has a substituent or a phenyl group which has a substituent, and M is a transition metal atom.
