DRAFTING APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING SLUB YARN

PURPOSE:The titled apparatus, having a structure to avoid the control of only a fiber group for forming slubs by an apron and capable of giving slub yarns having slubs well compatible with ground yarns without dispersing the fiber group forming the slubs in the fiber group forming the ground yarns. CONSTITUTION:A drafting apparatus having >=40mm. free gauge (FG) from the end point of effective holding of an apron to the holding point of front rolls 6 and 7. Preferably, the length (lB) of the bottom apron cradle and the length (lT) of the top apron cradle are set as follows; 0.3lB<=lT<=0.9lB. Slivers or rovings having a fiber group (1a) forming ground yarns having a relatively long fiber length integrated with a fiber group (1b) forming slubs having a relatively short fiber length are drafted to permit the spinning while carrying out the original control of the fiber group forming the ground yarns without dispersing nor eliminating the fiber group forming the slubs.
