The invention relates to the intermediate product in the manufacture of upper parts of folding boxes with projecting edges or lower parts of folding boxes from a blank which has a central portion, from whose edges foldable projecting edge webs start, adjoining whose edge longitudinal and transverse walls adjoin and beyond whose edge foldable inside wall portions extend. In particular for improved automatic manufacture, it is proposed that all four projecting edge webs (3) are bonded to the inside surface of the central part and the inside wall portions are bonded to the inside surfaces of the longitudinal walls (1), and the longitudinal and transverse walls (1, 2) are folded outwards and lie over the projecting edge webs (3), covering the latter.
