PURPOSE:To detect a state of anything trouble in a gap between a poles with certainty, by detecting the time required for long from impressing of a voltage to the gap between poles to discharge starting, while making it so as to discriminate the gap state according to a distributing state of the time. CONSTITUTION:The discharge delay time required for long from impressing of a pulse voltage to the gap between poles in electric discharge machining to the generation of discharge is detected whereby the distributing state is detected upon processing statistically. Each distributing state corresponding to a state of the gap is stored in memory in advance, and this stored distributing state is compared with the detected distributing state, thus the gap state is discriminated. Doing like this, a state of anything trouble in the gap between poles is detected with certainty, so that proper measures for restoration can be performed. |
