PURPOSE:To obtain a damping force characteristic approximate to an ideal damping force by providing a damping valve which enables the generation of low damping force and high damping force when the vibration frequency in a cylinder is above the set region. CONSTITUTION:A damping force generating portion 4 of a hydraulic shockabsorber has high-cut damping valves 4a, 4b and a low-cut damping valve 4c. When the vibration frequency in an upper oil chamber in a cylinder is increased and the internal pressure in a pressure chamber 42b is lowered, the high-cut damping valve 4a is operated, and when the frequency is further increased, the low-cut damping valve 4c is operate. When the frequency is further increased, the high-cut valve 4b is operated. Therefore, a favorable damping characteristic can be obtained in a vibration system having two degrees of freedom. |
