A selection controller is illustrated and described having a control circuit (1) for objectively switching on m control contactors (2) from a plurality of n (n > m) of control contactors (2), the control circuit (1) having an electrical power supply (3), n control contactors (2) and at least n/m switching-on elements. As a lock which is free of auxiliary contacts and does not have the problem of a time-delayed response, it is provided that the control circuit (1) has a current-limiting means (4) and that the current-limiting means (4) limits the control current in the control circuit (1) to the value (control current limiting value) which is required for switching on m control contactors (2). <IMAGE>
