PURPOSE:To perform complete communication through a transmission line whose one-time communication time is limited by interrupting the communication within the limit of the one-time communication time, and making a reconnection and continuing the remaining communication repeatedly. CONSTITUTION:The transmission line 3 is released automatically 60 seconds after being connected, and a stop signal (a) is generated. An image transmission control circuit 12 when supplied with the stop signal (a) sends a stop indication to a pulse motor driving circuit 15 and a scanning circuit 16 to interrupt image transmission and the original stops at the current subscanning position. A stand- by instruction sending circuit 13, on the other hand, generates a stand-by instruction signal (c) in response to the stop signal (a) and sends the signal to the transmission line after modulation by an MODEM. A reception side wait for the answer of the detection of the stand-by instruction signal (c) and a transmitter 1 releases the transmission line. Therefore, the transmission line is released 60 seconed before. The reception side is called and the transmission line is connected after the transmission line is released, and then a clock circuit 11 restarts operation.
