DEVICE FOR REPAIRING PLATING IN BEAD CUT PART OF ELECTRIC WELDED STEEL PIPE SUBJECTED TO PLATING

PURPOSE:To enable stable deposition of a plating metallic wire with a simple and inexpensive device by disposing the arc electrodes of a two-electrodes arc type heater at a specified opening angle and angle of inclination. CONSTITUTION:An arc type heater consisting of a pair of electrode bars 11 is provided in the narrow space between a bead cutter 1 and a device 3 for preheating and supplying a metallic wire, and releases a large quantity of energy in the small space. The bars 11 are held respectively in electrode bar holders 12, and are disposed right above an electric welded pipe 7 by having a specified opening angles alpha and a specified angle beta of inclination to the bead cut surface. Convergence and directivity are given to the arc flame generated between the electrodes by such disposition and the gaseous flow of the arc collides against the part near the deposition point of the plating metallic wire at about the spread of the width at which the bead is cut and therefore the bead cut surface is efficiently heated without spoiling the plating appearance of the electric welded pipe body.
