PURPOSE:To obtain a cartridge useful for overlapping multiple colors, by providing a relatively thin outer envelope for containing a ribbon therein and supporting a fixed length of the ribbon between a platen and a printing head, a capstan for moving the ribbon, etc. CONSTITUTION:A main body 29 of the capstan is provided with a hollow part for fitting the capstan to a fixed pole 40 so provided as to protrude into the interior of the outer envelope 11 from the back wall of the envelope 11. By this, the capstan can be accurately aligned when assembling the cartridge. A driving belt 44 fitted to pulley blocks 26, 28 rotates a take-up hub 23 in response to the rotation of the capstan 29. The belt 44 is engaged to or disengaged from the pulley blocks so as to conform to a rewinding roll varied in diameter. A gear 43 is located at an intermediate position of the width of a carriage, is thin, and is extended beyond a main body. |
