PURPOSE:To form a sensor of a simple structure, which has functions of detecting the abrasion limit of a brake lining and detecting an abnormal temperature of brake oil by disposing a sensor in which a thermal sensitive element and non- contacting detecting means such as a proximity switch or the like are united in a body at a predetermined place of a wheel cylinder portion of a brake. CONSTITUTION:A thermal sensitive element 13 for detecting an abnormal rise of temperature of brake oil 5 and a proximity switch 12 for non-contact detecting a change of position of a piston 4 moved by abrasion of a brake lining 1 are united in a body and incorporated in a sensor case 14, thereby forming a sensor 11. The sensor 11 is set at such a position of a wheel cylinder portion 3 of a brake in such a manner that when the piston 4 advances up to the abrasion limit of the brake lining 1, the proximity switch 12 is operated. In this arrangement, the limit of abrasion is easily non-contact detected by utilizing the movement of the piston 4 caused by abrasion of the brake lining 1, and an abnormal rise of temperature of the brake oil 5 is detected by the thermal sensitive element 13. |
