An hydraulic pressure control valve of the type having a control spool operably associated with resilient pressure balancing means has an arrangement of piston assemblies operative upon the pressure balancing means to provide stepwise adjustment thereof. The arrangement of piston assemblies is conveniently coaxial and telescopic and may provide for adjustment of the pressure balancing means in equal steps by operation of the pistons in a binary digital sequence.
