PURPOSE:To execute easily a rotating operation of an original holding plate by changing a point of application to the original holding plate of an oscillating member whose one end is fixed to a body and which is rotated by a spring in accordance with a rotational angle. CONSTITUTION:An original holding plate 1 rotates from a fixed position for pressing an original against a platen to an opening position B for opening it on the platen around a horizontal shaft 6. An oscillating member 9 having a long hole 10 engaged with an engaging member 11 for supporting the original holding plate 1 is given a force for rotating upward around a horizontal shaft 7 fixed to a copying machine side plate 3, by a spring 12. A position where the oscillating member 9 exerts a force on the engaging member 11 moves within a range of a long hole 10 in accordance with a rotational angle of the original holding plate 1, therefore, the empty weight of the original holding plate 1 almost coincides with a tension of the spring 12, and the original holding plate 1 can be opened by a light force. |
