The invention relates to running soles for cross-country skis, in which profile elevations, as elements preventing slipping backwards, are mounted over the running surface and profile depressions in the running surface (Figure 2). The essence of the invention consists in the fact that better sliding in the snow and the same climbing in the snow as in the case of running soles which are provided solely with profile elevations above the running surface are achieved with the said profile element combination. <IMAGE>
