PURPOSE:To produce a spring material which is satisfactory in both spring characteristic and conductivity and is inexpensive by superposing and joining a plate material consisting of an iron alloy or nickel alloy and a plate material consisting of pure copper, and subjecting the laminated plate to a heating treatment at an adequate temp. CONSTITUTION:A plate material 1 consisting of an iron alloy or nickel alloy having a good spring characteristic is used as a base material and a plate material 2 consisting substantially of pure copper having good conductivity is laminated with each other on either one or both side faces thereof and both plates are press welded and joined by cold rolling; further the laminated plate is subjected to a diffusiin heat treatment at about 1,000 deg.C then to a heat treatment at 250-450 deg.C to improve spring strength. A spring material is thus obtd. A carbon steel, stainless steel, etc. are used as the above-mentioned iron alloy, and an ''Inconel '' alloy, etc. are used as the nickel alloy. The thickness of the plate material 2 consisting of pure copper is set preferably at 10-30% of the total thickness of the spring. |
