PURPOSE:To shorten the initializing time of plural terminals connected to a host device by forming a common address for receiving initializing data to the respective terminals in addition to addresses inherent to the respective terminals. CONSTITUTION:A demodulator 5 separates a data bit 51 and a clock signal 52 from a transmission signal. A synchronous code detector 6 detects the start of a receiving message and generates a message starting pulse 53. A counter 7 starts to count up the clock signal 52 at the recepion of the pulse 53 and generates a byte pulse 54 every 8 pulses. A control part 11 generates a discrimination code loading pulse at the 1st pulse, loads a discrimination code in the message to a register 9 and turns on an initializing mode signal 60. The control part 11 generates a control memory load pulse 58 to load a text part to a control memory 31. After ending the initializing message, the control part 11 turns off the initializing mode.
