PURPOSE:To provide an apparatus capable of automatically performing siping in such a state that the interval, the angle, the depth and the shape of the siping are made ajustable while a tire is supported within vertical plane and intermittently rotated. CONSTITUTION:A tire setting apparatus A is constituted of a tire support mechanism 4 for supporting a tire 1 by a pair of rims 2, 3 so as to make the same rotatable in a vertical plane and an intermittent rotary mechanism 5 for intermittently rotating the tire 1 at a predetermined angle while a siping apparatus B is constituted of a cutter stand 9 for supporting one disc cutter 7 rotated in a horizontal plane by a motor 6 and a slide sleigh 8 for limiting the siping depth due to disc cutter 7 while following the tread surface 1a of the tire 1, a truck 10 for reciprocally guiding said cutter stand 9 to a direction, a guide rail 11 for reciprocally guiding the truck in the front and rear direction crossing a siping direction at right angles and an angle altering mechanism 12 for altering the siping angle of the disc cutter 7 by swinging the guide rail 11 in a horizontal plane.
