The invention relates to a radial fan with a spiral housing and a fan impeller pivotally mounted in the spiral housing, a lateral inlet aperture being provided in the spiral housing, there being an air gap or intermediate chamber between the inner wall of the spiral housing lying opposite the inlet aperture and the fan impeller. The invention is characterised in that the air gap or intermediate chamber is sealed off in a radial direction in the radial end area of the fan impeller. |
