The relevant solution relates to a method of butt-jointing window-glass strips in continuous or discontinuous installations for machining parts for posts and transoms which are intended for manufacturing door or window frames.
<??>The part 10 fitted first and machined at both ends, for the purpose of making notches and tenons or other joining means, is butt-jointed by 45 DEG subsequent thereto in these installations, and in fact at a point at which the window-glass strip 12 is subsequently formed, before the latter is shaped, then cut and cut off according to the generally known methods.
<??>The butt-jointing phase of the window-glass strip is effected with the use of at least one cylindrical mortiser 15 with a horizontal axis or lying in a right-angled plane and pivoted with the lateral working surface by 45 DEG in relation to the cutting and cut-off plane T of the said strip from the part being worked, the said mortiser being movable in directions running parallel to the said cutting plane.
