PURPOSE:To expand function without changing instruction word length by providing a subprocessor and its control circuit. CONSTITUTION:Only a processor 1 operates usually, but when the same address as a register address assigned to a processor control circuit 4 included in the same kind of register as a register 5 is set up in a register address field in an instruction word, the processor 1 is turned to an expansion instruction execution mode and the processor 1 outputs an instruction selecting a subprocessor 2 or 3 to the processor control circuit 4 through a data bus 7. Receiving the instruction, the controller 4 switches and controls the mode of the processor 1 by outputting signals 8-10.
