The invention relates to a raker-type chain conveyor with a conveying trough (1) which is divided into an upper and lower side (1a, 1b) by an intermediate floor (4), two endless chains (7, 8) driven in two vertical planes at a distance from one another and cross pieces (28) which are held by and between the endless chains (7, 8) and which convey the material on the intermediate floor (4). Among other things, a low conveyor height is to be combined with a high degree of operational reliability.
