<p>A self-supportable cable clamp (10) for attaching a cable (12) tranversely across inwardly directed flanges (20a,20b) of a U-shaped support channel (14) includes an elongate base (22) having a rigid lower portion (28) adapted to reside within the channel (14) and a pair of flexible, cantilevered arms (38a,38b) adapted to lie exteriorly of the channel (14). The base lower portion (28) has a pair of longitudinally spaced engagement surfaces (30a,30b) that together with opposed contact surfaces (42a,42b) on the flexible arms (38a,38b) define a pair of openings (50a,50b) for resiliently receiving the inwardly directed channel flanges (21a,20b). The base (22) is adapted to be installed by insertion thereof into the channel (14) and rotation thereabout until the channel flanges (20a,20b) are received in the base openings (50a,50b). A cable strap (24) of the self-locking type is supported by the base (22) for attachment to a cable (12) and for securing such cable (12) to the base (22) as mounted on the channel.</p> |
