PURPOSE:To shorten intervals of sectors on a recording medium and perform efficient high-density signal recording by forming single magnetic pole plates of a vertical magnetism type head as an erasing head on the surface of the core of the head oblique to its gap, and charging the groove with a nonmagnetic body. CONSTITUTION:The single magnetic poles 24a and 24b are provided on the surfaces oblique to the gap G of trapezoid grooves 23a and 23b formed in flanks of the core 21 for specifying the track width of the gap G. The erasing head has an azimuth to a recording and reproducing head, so the reproduction efficiency of the erasing head for a recording signal is reduced. Consequently, even when the erasing head passes over an adjacent track during signal reproduction owing to an increase in the tracking error of the head, the signal of the adjacent track is never reproduced by the erasing head. Therefore, crosstalk between tracks is suppressed to reproduce the signal excellently. |
