PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-resistant Al alloy for electrical conduction having excellent heat resistance and electrical conductivity by subjecting an Al alloy contg. respectively prescribed ratios of Zr, Fe and Be and contg. Ze and Fe in the regulated quantitative relation to casting followed by hot working at a prescribed starting temp. for working. CONSTITUTION:An Al alloy contg. 0.015-0.056% Zr, 0.07-0.28% Fe, and <=0.002% B, and having the relation; the content of Fe/5+ the content of Zr= 0.04-0.07% is cast. The Al alloy after the casting is hot worked at a starting temp. for working of >=500 deg.C to form a solid solution of Fe and Zr and to fine the dispersion of the simultaneously precipitating Al3Fe and Al6Fe, thereby improving both characteristics of strength and heat resistance. The Al alloy subjected to said hot rolling is thereafter cold-worked to a final size, by which the heat-resistant Al alloy having the performance of >=60% IACS electrical conductivity, the strength equivalent to or higher than the strength of a hard Al wire and >=90% residual tensile strength after heating for one hour at 250 deg.C is obtd.
