PURPOSE:To uniform display color and to improve the quality of external appearance by holding a colored glass fiber which provides a color tone similar to that of a dichroic dye between a couple of substrates for holding the space between the couple of substrates to specific thickness. CONSTITUTION:Small pieces of colored glass fiber having a desired diameter are scattered over at least either of a couple of substrates on which transparent electrodes are formed, and the couple of substrates are adhered together by a sealant with spacers which are the same with or different from the glass fibers. Further, nematic liquid crystal with which a dichroic dye is mixed is sealed between the substrates to constitute a guest and host type liquid crystal display element. In this case, the color tone of the used colored glass fiber is similar to that of the dichroic dye. This guest and host type liquid crystal display element has uniform display color and none of glass fiber parts fades in color to a colorless state. |
