The proposed precipitator has filter elements with side portions to be at least partially fed from a high voltage supply. The end faces are open for passage of the flowing medium, and a door permits the filter elements to be pushed in and to be accessed. The high voltage supply is arranged, in a flat construction, between the side portions, which lie perpendicular to the direction of pushing in and respectively shut off the filter elements, and the housing walls in question, in the regions not having medium flowing through it. <IMAGE>
