<p>Novel methods for combatting undesirable plant growth are provided herein. The methods include (a) applying, to the area where that effect is desired, a herbicidal amount of a composition comprising a naturally-occurring conjugated polyacetylene and an inert carrier; and (b) subjecting the composition, after it has been so applied, to the influence of UV radiation in the range of 300 nm to 400 nm for n sufficient time to impart, to the naturally-occurring conjugated polyacetylenes, the desired plant growth control activity.</p> |
