PURPOSE:To let a semiconductor device have a harmonic countermeasure function capable of simplifying the peripheral circuit by incorporating a semiconductor substrate needed for the harmonic countermeasure circuit in the interior of the device. CONSTITUTION:An element 1b for harmonic countermeasure consists of two pieces of transistors and four pieces of diodes and the transistors are turned ON or OFF by a chopper signal which is synchronized with a reactor LS provided on the peripheral circuit and a load, whereby the power source is temporarily boosted and a sinusoidal current is offered to a capacitor. This system is very effective as a harmonic countermeasure besides a high power factor approximate to 100% is obtained. Since the element for harmonic countermeasure is incorporated in a semiconductor device 1' in such a way, the peripheral circuit can be simplified, which is much effective in miniaturizing the system. |
