PURPOSE:To permit to miniaturize the starter by a method wherein first and second stop collars, regulating the movement of an overrunning clutch and the movement of an armature shaft itself, are provided in the starter for an internal- combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:The first stop collar 4, regulating the overrunning clutch 6 on the armature shaft 1 of the starter motor, and the second stop collar 4', regulating the movement of the armature shaft 1 itself, are provided while both stop collars 4, 4' are arranged under combining both of them so as to oppose mutually at both sides of a snap ring 2 held on the armature shaft 1. Accordingly, reduction of strength of the shaft may be prevented since the armature shaft is not provided with a stepped part and the length of the shaft may be shortened in accordance with the increase of a bearing performance since the diameter of the bearing may be increased, whereby the starter ma be miniaturized in size. |
