PURPOSE:To easily prevent the partial wear of an ink ribbon with the initial driving direction set at random by utilizing the undefined property of data due to volatility of an RAM. CONSTITUTION:An address counter 1 is provided to specify an address in a given range of a volatile RAM 2, an adder 3 to add 1 bit of a data at an address specified and a circuit to output an output signal of said adder 3 divided into two types to serve as driving direction command. With the closing of the power source of a printer, the address counter 1 is operated to add 1 bit of a data of the RAM 2 and according to the results, the output of a flip-flop 4 is changed to determine the driving direction of the ink ribbon. The output of the final data is undefined due to volatility of the RAM. |
