PURPOSE:To obtain a press-casting mold for manufacturing a disk with high surface hardness and superior scratch resistance by forming a thin film of a specified metallic oxide on the Ni or Cu plated surface of a press casting mold by vacuum deposition or other method so as to transfer the uneven shape of the surface of the matrix without causing deformation. CONSTITUTION:The Ni or Cu plated surface of a press-casting mold is cleaned and coated with a layer of SnO2, TiO2 or ZrO2 having a uniform thickness by vacuum deposition, sputtering or CVD. The metallic oxide layer may be provided with a multilayered structure consisting of two or more kinds of such metallic oxides. Thus, the surface hardness is improved, and the uneven shape of the surface of the matrix is transferred without causing remarkable deformation. Since said metallic oxide layer is an electrically conductive thin film, dust in the air can be prevented from sticking to the surface of the press casting mold owing to the effect of static electricity. |
