In an open-end friction-spinning device having two rollers which are arranged next to one another, form a V-shaped nip and are driven in the same direction, the fibres are fed onto the cylindrical surface of a roller designed as a suction roller, at a distance from the V-shaped nip, so that the fed fibres experience a deflection at the edge of the mouth of a feed channel, before they pass into the V-shaped nip. As a result of this deflection, the fibres are stretched and made parallel.
