PURPOSE:To completely fill sand into a mat with good efficiency by a method in which an aqueous sand slurry of a high sand concentration is mixed with a thickening agent and filled into a mat consisting of connected cylindrical sheets by means of a pump. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous sand slurry containing 30-60% sand is mixed with a thickening agent, e.g., water-soluble cellulose ether, etc., to prepare a sand-rich slurry whose viscosity is 30-1,000cps. The sand-rich slurry is filled into a mat 1 consisting of connected cylindrical sheets 6. Sand can thus be completely filled into the mat 1 because the slurry can be transported through a pipeline without causing the separation of sand and water in the slurry. |
