PURPOSE:To correctly position a copy having a variety of length at a prescribed stop position by correcting the timing of generation of a transfer-belt stop signal according to the length of the size of the copy which is detected by a copy-size detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A copy 3 is sent-out between a slidable surface 8 and a transfer belt 6 arranged in parallel in contact state, to the slidable surface 8 by a paper feeding roller 2, and the output pulse 2 supplied from a pulse encoder 11 synchronized with the belt 6 is counted from the time when a copy detector 5 starts operation, and when a prescribed count value is reached, the belt 6 is stopped, and the copy is stopped at a prescribed copy stop position. In said apparatus, the distance from the position where the copy passes through the roller 2 to the copy stop position 9 is obtained from the length of the copy size which is detected by a copy-size detecting means, and the error in the distance for the copy to reach the stop position 9 is obtained from the above-described distance and the amount of slip per transfer distance between the belt 6 and the copy, and the belt stop signal is corrected by the number of pulses corresponding to said error. |
