PURPOSE:To obtain a developer giving a sharp image free from background stains and superior in dispersion stability, etc. by using for a toner resin a copolymer prepared from a polyfunctional cross-linkable monomer having a polar group and a monomer capable of solvating with the liquid carrier of a liquid developer both before and after the polymerization. CONSTITUTION:A developer is prepared by dispersing a copolymer made from a monomer solvating with a liquid carrier of an aliphatic hydrocarbon, represented by the formula shown here (R is H or methyl, X is halogen, and n is 1-20) before the polymn. but not after it, and a 6-20C alkyl (meth)acrylate solvating with it both before and after the polymn., and a toner contg. a colorant, such as carbon black or pigment, and a small amt. of wax, etc. into said liquid carrier. The liquid developer thus obtained is prevented from gelation, separation of the colorant, or the like, and enhanced in dispersion stability, and fixability, etc. by using a monomer shown by the formula. |
