A rapid switching device for fused interrupters and similar apparatuses. The manual switching on and off operation always forms a hazardous moment, since these apparatuses are connected directly to live busbars and are hence often switched off while passing current and may be switched on to a short-circuit, the switching being dependent on the operation. For safety, the fused interrupters are provided with a simple, robust rapid switching device, via a spring element and roller, this device completely relieving the manual operation of stress at the correct switching moment, so that the interrupter switches on completely with high acceleration in the switching-on direction, while, in the switching-off direction, the contact blades of the built-in fuse inserts are drawn rapidly through the existing extinguishing device, but are braked after leaving the extinguishing device. At the same time, the rapid switching device holds the switched-on apparatus in its position even in the event of vibration and short-circuit current switching-off forces. In this case, the separation of the operating element of the fused interrupter remains secured for non-hazardous replacement of the fuse inserts in that the roller and spring element are split up onto the stationary fuse lower part and the moving, removable operating element.
