PURPOSE:To obtain square metallic pipes continuously with simple roll structure by forming a metallic strip into cylindrical form, welding butted parts and then roll forming. CONSTITUTION:A metallic strip 2 is supplied continuously to a cylinder forming device consisting of plural roll groups 4a and formed into cylindrical form. Two side edges of the metallic strip 2 are butt welded by a welding torch 6 and a circular pipe is formed. This circular pipe is sent to a square pipe forming device 5 consisting of a group of horizontal rolls 5a and a group of vertical rolls 5b, and formed gradually to a square pipe. This pipe is sent to a cutter 8 through a receiving device 7 and cut to a fixed size. In this way, a square metallic pipe for square metallic gutter etc. can be manufactured easily. |
