In an edge connector for printed circuit boards, each contact is formed from a looped strip with a convex portion 35 which bears against the body so that when a circuit board 12 is inserted, the contact initially flexes about the point 35 and bears increasingly on the body so that the point of flexure moves upwardly along the contact. The contact has a convex contact-making portion 33 and a further convex portion 34 by which it is located in the body. One limb 31 of the contact is bent over to secure it in the body and part of this limb may be broken off at a score mark 32. The connector may have contacts on both sides of the circuit board recess.
