PURPOSE:To extend the life of the tip of a lance by forming bottomed false nozzles in the vicinity of nozzles for blowing in the heat receiving surface of the tip of the lance to reduce the area of the high-temp. heat receiving part and to disperse thermal stress. CONSTITUTION:Bottomed false nozzles 11 are formed in the vicinity of tip nozzles 02 for blowing in the tip 01 of a lance. The peripheries and bottoms of the nozzles 11 are cooled with ice, and the nozzles 11 are recessed from the surface of the tip 01, so they are not directly exposed to high humidity. The surface unevenness of the tip 01 disperses thermal stress, and the tip 01 undergoes hardly damage and deformation such as cracking, so the life of the lance is extended. Fine blowing holes may be pierced in the nozzles 11 to blow off slag in the nozzles. |
