COMPLEX FOCUSING DETECTOR

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain high-precision focusing state detection effect by providing a photodetecting element array which detects information on the sharpness of an image which corresponds to the defocusing state of an optical image forming system and information on a lateral shift in another direction. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and the 2nd photodetecting element arrays 12A and 12B for detecting out-of-focus images are provided to photodetect pieces of luminous flux in front of and behind the expected focal plane of a photographic lens 1 and a surface conjugate thereto, and the 3rd and the 4th photodetecting element arrays of nearly the same constitution for lateral-shift image detection are provided on the same substrate 15 closely to said arrays. Light shield mask plates 16 and 17 constituting an exit pupil optical splitting system wherein pieces of luminous flux from the 1st and the 2nd areas partitioned by a surface containing the optical axis of the photographic lens 1 are incident to odd- numbered and even-numbered adjacent photodetecting elements in respective couples of the photodetecting element arrays 13 and 14 are arranged in the optical paths between the photodetecting element arrays 13 and 14 and photographic lens 1, i.e. between a beam splitter 7 and the photodetecting element arrays 13 and 14.
