A cartridge-feed device for automatic firearms, having an endless chain for conveying cartridges of different types of ammunition and having a combing-out device taking effect in the two driving directions of the chain and possessing a movably mounted cam, is characterised in that a deflecting device (deflecting wheel 64) for the chain is provided in the end region of the chain (1) facing the firearm, and in that the cam (66, 166) is pivotable to a limited extent and engages with its end (67, 167) facing away from its pivot axis into the path of the cartridges located in the region of the deflecting device. The space required for the combing-out cam is thereby reduced. <IMAGE>
