A handle (1) closed in on itself like a ring, in particular for folding doors, drawers and the like, has in the region of its mounting flank (2) facing the respective support surface at least one continuous mounting opening (4, 5), and on its gripping flank (3) opposite the mounting flank at least one access opening (10, 11) which is flush with the mounting opening and simultaneously serves to accommodate mounting means (13, 14) for holding a descriptive, signal or decorative plate (12). The mounting means (13, 14) for the descriptive, signal or decorative plate (12) can be integrally formed thereon and dimensioned so as to lock or engage in the access opening (10, 11). The region of the gripping flank (3) which accommodates the descriptive, signal or decorative plate (12) can have a depression (15) which corresponds to the extent of the plate area and into which the plate can be inserted flush with the surface. <IMAGE>
