PURPOSE:To provide a butterfly valve of simple construction and low cost in a butterfly valve having an intake and exhaust passage suitable for drying materials in a container such as hoppers by making the valve plate out of permeable valve plate and forming an air intake conduit in the valve shaft. CONSTITUTION:The valve body 1 of a butterfly valve 10 has a resilient seat ring 2 on its inner perimeter, and a valve plate 3 is fixedly attached to valve shafts 5a, 5b which extend through both members and are rotatable. The valve plate 3 is formed in a shallow disc, and a ventilation member 4 is attached to its open side. One of the valve shafts 5 has in its interior an intake and exhaust conduit 7. The conduit 7 has multiple orifices 7a-7c, and corresponding to those orifices 7a-7c, three pairs of buffer wall 3d-3f are formed in a concave 6 of the valve plate 3. The intake and exhaust conduit 7 is connected to an intake and exhaust control valve. When drying materials subject to heat treatment, the ventilation member 4 is placed to the hopper side and the valve 10 is closed to supply hot air to the interior of the hopper through the conduit 7. |
