PURPOSE:To enable a mirror main unit to be held in each erect and tilt position by simple construction, by selectively engaging the mirror main unit to each bottom part of the erect and tilt position, in the case of a shock absorber which tiltably supports the mirror main unit in the longitudinal direction. CONSTITUTION:At normal time, a mirror main unit 10 is held in a position in which a click spring 29 is in its maximum length, that is, a click piece 28 is fitted in an erect position bottom part 23a of a click groove 23. Here if external force is applied to the mirror main unit 10 from the longitudinal direction, the mirror main unit 10 is tilted around an axial center 21 serving as the center, and a click element 22 is also tilted, causing position of the click piece 28 adapted to the groove 23 to approximate to a crest part 23c in both sides of the bottom part 23a, thus the click spring 29 is compressed. Then if the external force is removed, the mirror main unit 10 is returned to an erect position by repulsive force of the click spring 29. Further if the mirror main unit 10 is largely tilted to a position where the click piece 28 rides over the crest part 23c, the click piece 28 is fitted to a tilt position bottom part 23b. |
