PURPOSE:To obtain the sufficient electrostatic charge quantity of toner particles and eliminate variance in the electrostatic charge quantity among the toner particles by incorporating a specific compd. in a toner as an electrostatic charge control agent. CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by the formula (R1 is H, methyl, etc., R2 is alkyl, aralkyl, etc., R3 is alkyl, alkoxy, etc.) is incorporated as an electrostatic charge control agent in a toner for developing an electrical latent image. Said compd. is synthesized from, for example, a phenyl hydrazine deriv. and 3,6-diformyl-9-alkyl carbazole. Such compd. is mixed with a binder resin and a coloring agent to prepare a toner, and the toner is used as a two-component developer together with an iron powder carrier. It is also possible to use the same as a magnetic toner by melting and dispersing magentite in said toner compound. If such electrostatic charge control agent is used, a sharp and stable copied image having no dropout is obtd. |
